Draw From Concealment Safely
Practice drawing a handgun from a holster in our Simulator
- One of the most critical aspects of the conventional sequence of “presentation from a holster” is the “rotate” step.
- Once the shooter has grasped the gun, and as soon as it has cleared the holster, it rotates the firearm to bring its muzzle in alignment with the target, which happens in fractions of a second before the weak hand would otherwise join the strong hand.
- The arms would be extended and presented forward to allow for the conventional alignment of the sights.
- But it is precisely those time savings that could make the critical difference in a violent close encounter.
