Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training.
Orientation Goal:
To provide beginning shooters
with an introduction to the knowledge,
skills, and attitude necessary to own
and use a specific pistol model safely.
Length of Orientation: 1/2 Day.
Course Topics Include:
NRA’s rules for safe gun handling
Ammunition for target and defense
Basics Shooting fundamentals
Cleaning the pistol
Continued opportunities for skill development

FIRST Steps Course Completion Certificate
NRA membership is not required for this course.
Required:
Valid form of government Photo ID
50 rounds of ammunition
(ammunition can be purchased here for training use only)
Electronic ear protection and eye protection
(closed-toed shoes, no low-cut shirts)
If you do not currently own a handgun, we have handguns available.
We recommend that if you do not own a handgun then take the
course using one of ours.
This will assist new shooters in learning what they need and
want out of a firearm before they make a purchase.
All firearms brought to this course must be unloaded and in a case.
